Traceability of wood

All the woods we use in wine-cellar applications are non-treated native woods, mostly having PEFC sustainable forest management certification.

No imported woods are used in our wine-cellar applications, chiefly because there is not sufficiently reliable information on sourcing of tropical woods. (Much imported wood is pre-treated and this is largely outside of the importer's control.)

We apply the same demanding requirements as barrel-makers as regards quality, origin and traceability of woods.

All woods selected for use in our wine-cellar applications are analysed by an independent laboratory for presence of these molecules:
PCP: Pentachhlorophenol
TeCP: Tetrachlorophenol
TBP: Tetrabromobiphenol

Varnishes, stains, ranch paints, paints, etc.
